THE SCIENCE OF KNOWLEDGE: OUR
METHODS
The goal of UKS’ development team is to create instructions that maximize
the potential of eLearning. As such, our method of instruction follows the
template laid down by the proven international ADDIE model:
Analyse: A Project Manager and eLearning Consultant analyse learner
characteristics, gauge the learner's needs, and identify the best solutions to
meet those needs.
Design: Our Instructional Designer works with the Subject Matter Expert
to develop learning objectives, choose an instructional approach and learner
environment, and address instructional problems.
Develop: Our Instructional Designer arranges subject matter content and
guides the production of communication media. Graphic material, including
animations, electronic simulations, interactivity models and sound assets are
duly produced and assembled.
Implement: Our deployment team delivers the
instructional materials. The latest
technological developments in assets production and assembly are implemented to ensure reusability, upgradeability,
shareability, and scalability.
Evaluate: Our quality assurance team makes sure the material achieves the
desired goals and conforms to international standards such as SCORM.
Development Tools:
For our content development, we use one of the leading-edge set of tools
currently available in the market - the Giunti Labs learn eXact tool set.
Learn eXact is a powerful Learning Content Management System (LCMS) that speeds
up the processes of creating, indexing, storing, revising and managing eLearning
content and knowledge repositories, with the eXact Packager authoring module and
the eXact LOBSTER digital repository.
Phases of Knowledge Transfer to eLearning Content:
The content production process at UKS includes the following phases for transfer
of subject matter knowledge to eLearning content:
• SMEs produce/collect documentation
• SMEs share documentation with the Production Team
• Production Team produces Learning Content
• SMEs review output
• Production Team refines Learning Content
International Standards Compliance:
All our courseware is designed following industry-leading international
standards from IEEE IMS and ADL, and AICC such as SCORM. All material is assigned levels of
user engagement based on the US DoD classifications and levels of multimedia and
graphics complexity. In addition, depending on your needs, courseware may have audio,
video, and animation, interaction and simulations as well as real-time
connectivity and interaction.
The online courses are delivered as a set of related, effective, reusable
learning objects with trackable assessment tools grouped together to form highly
effective courseware. |
