The
University of Georgia through UKS is
offering a collection of courses that can help schools to advance their teaching
and learning, particularly with regards to technology in the 21st Century. The
program is accredited by the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and
revolves around two foci: Preparing school leaders to lead the use of technology
and preparing teachers to use technology in powerful ways.
This dual prong approach is based on years of research on how to bring about
positive change in the schools and it is based on well-established and powerful
teaching and learning theory. Administrators would complete course work having
created technology plans for their schools and other artifacts that will support
them as they lead their teachers in their adoption of technology. Teachers will
complete their course work with lessons that have used in their classes during
their learning in the class. For both of them, they will complete their course
work with a collection of artifacts that they can use in their jobs immediately.
